There is nothing gloomy about winter at Oilily. The Oilily Fall/Winter collection for 2012 is all about colour - or more importantly about art. Oilily celebrates children's creativity with their new Heart for Art collection, an ode to the visual arts. All the prints are handmade - from strong, hand-drawn polka dots to quirky, hand-painted florals - and all feature a striking palette of bright colours.

Bold prints with large features go hand in hand with fine all-over prints, and all the imagination and thoughtful craftsmanship that I love about Oilily is there. There are dresses with a selection of collars that you can change yourself. There are cardigans and dresses decorated with fine hand-embroidery in fluorescent yarns, an all-over hand-embroidered polka, daring placement prints, and hidden details. Within prints, and embroidered on the inside of trousers, you can find the text 'Never grow up', and indeed, who wants to when a childhood offers so much brilliant colour and energy. Lucky for us oldies that Oilily is about more than just children's wear!
